Merced Behavioral Center is a locked 96-bed skilled nursing facility located in Merced, California, that has been serving the community since 1973. Merced Behavioral is licensed by the California Department of Health Services and the California State Department of Mental Health.
Our main emphasis is placed on helping our residents gain an understanding of their illness and helping acquire the necessary coping skills for successful community placement.

The mission of our Special Treatment Program is to assist the resident in achieving and maintaining a satisfactory level of functioning for all to experience the best quality of life attainable in the least restrictive environment possible. We achieve this through behavioral modification techniques, medication stabilization and compliance, a structured program of informational psycho-educational groups and activities designed to promote the individual’s maximum potential.
