Merced Behavioral Center is a locked 96-bed skilled nursing facility located in Merced, California, and we have been proudly serving the community since 1973. Merced Behavioral is licensed by the California Department of Health Services and the California State Department of Mental Health.

24-Hour Nursing Care
Our nursing department provides excellent care combined with dignity for our residents. Professionally staffed around the clock, we give your loved one comfort and specialized care.
Treatment Program
Our Special Treatment Program assists the resident in achieving and maintaining a satisfactory level of functioning so all may experience the best quality of life attainable in the least restrictive environment possible. We achieve this through behavioral modification techniques, medication stabilization, and compliance, a structured program of informational psycho-educational groups, and activities designed to promote the individual’s maximum potential.
Activity Program
Each resident is given a calendar to keep them informed of upcoming events such as birthday parties, movies, musical programs, outings, and other special events. Our activity groups provide socialization and supervised outings in the community.

Dietary Program
Our dietary program is designed to meet the dietary and physician-ordered needs of each resident in our care. To ensure that each resident is receiving the proper nutritional needs we offer Meals to meet specific dietary and therapeutic needs, according to physician orders, Oral supplements, as prescribed by each physician, Regular nutritional assessments from our registered dietitian
Diabetes Management
Our experienced nurses provide help with various aspects of managing diabetes including Blood glucose monitoring, Insulin administration and tracking, Exercise planning, Menu planning, education, and more.
Dementia Care
Our nurses work with each resident to create a comfortable environment including simple routines and visual cues as a positive substitute for diminishing mental processes. Our staff has undergone training per Title 22 regulations.
